David Renton
David Renton is a barrister at Garden Court chambers, specialising in employment, family and housing law.
Before being called to the bar he was for several years an academic historian in the UK and South Africa, holding senior posts including a Visiting Professorship at the University of Johannesburg.
He is the author of sixteen previous books including a biography of the cricketing historian and Caribbean political activist CLR James.
Between 13 and 18 he was a competitive middle-distance runner, holding his county record over 800 metres.
He lives in London together with his partner and two children.
