John Culbert

John Culbert taught for many years at the University of California, Irvine before moving to Vancouver, where he is a lecturer in French at the University of British Columbia. His critical study, Paralyses: Literature, Travel, and Ethnography in French Modernity, was the winner of the Modern Language Association's Scaglione Prize in French Studies in 2010. He has published short fiction in ZYZZYVA, Wave Composition, the Manchester Review and Harvard Review.
