Jonathan Romain

Rabbi, writer and broadcaster, Jonathan Romain is minister of Maidenhead Synagogue and one of Britain's leading rabbis. He writes for ‘The Times’, 'Jewish Chronicle' and other religious papers, and is often heard or seen on the BBC. He received the MBE for his work nationally in pioneering a more welcoming attitude to mixed-faith couples. He is chaplain to the Jewish Police Association, President of the Accord Coalition for inclusive education and Vice-Chair of Dignity in Dying. He is the author of 18 books (so far), covering both Jewish history and social issues in wider society. For several years he was a judge for both The Times Preacher of the Year Award and the BBC’s Frank Gillard Awards, and was a member of the BBC’s Standing Conference on Religion and Belief.
