Grayson James

Grayson has been helping executives, boards and senior management teams improve their collaborative business performance for over 30 years. In addition to coaching senior executives and teams, he facilitates organizational change initiatives and provides collaborative leadership education internationally through his consulting firm, Grayson James Consultants, LLC + Full Contact Institute. He designed and also leads the highly acclaimed Full Contact Collaboration workshops worldwide.

Grayson has worked with diverse organizations including Alcatel USA, Apple Computer, American Vintners Association, Chevron Oil, Genesys Telecommunications Labs, Home Credit Bank (Russia), Kaiser Permanente, Mondragon Cooperative (Spain), Pacific Gas and Electric, and The Lowe’s Companies, among many others.

In the 1980s Grayson was CEO of Independent Learning Schools, Inc., a nationally acclaimed multi-campus private school system in the San Francisco Bay Area that was cited as a model school for the future by George Leonard in Esquire Magazine and in Leonard’s groundbreaking book, “Education and Ecstasy”.

Grayson is a certified Ontological Coach and former co-leader of business coaching training programs in the U.S., Latin America and Europe. He has taught alternative conflict resolution trainings and served for years as a professional court-appointed mediator specializing in resolution of complex, multi-party litigations.

Grayson has founded, led and served on numerous non-profit boards and associations, including the nationally acclaimed Committee On The Shelterless (COTS) and the Petaluma Bounty, which was recognized with the Leadership in Sustainability Award by the California State Senate and State Assembly.

Grayson holds a 6th Degree Black Belt in Aikido and is a senior instructor at Two Rock Aikido in Petaluma. He also studies Tai Chi and is a long-time practitioner of Chi Gong, Vipassana Meditation, and other mind-body disciplines. He lives with his wife, dog and numerous pet gophers in Sonoma County, California.
