Colbalt Blue is one of Peggy Payne’s three novels about the convergence of sexuality and spirituality. The previous Sister India was a New York Times Notable Book of the Year. Roundfire didn’t publish that one, but we’re excited about being able to attract writers with this kind of history to publish with CI imprints.

In Cobalt Blue, Artist Andie Branson is overwhelmed by a spiritual experience that at first turns disturbingly erotic. Compulsion, obsession, ecstatic redemption.  It’s a book that’s had excellent reviews, too...

“Beautifully intense.” Huffington Post

"...A pilgrimage...a scorcher."  StarNews

Cobalt Blue, says a Chatham County Line review, is "no “how-to book….It’s purer and bolder, a delineation of religious ecstasy — a description of how it feels, in all its illogic.”

Cobalt Blue is an engrossing story of the spiritual awakening of a painter ... Payne strips away the barriers to female passion; she entices  the reader to vicariously experience the artist’s hot and sensual fire.
