Michael Cronin

Michael Cronin is a critic, writer and broadcaster and lives in Dublin Ireland. He holds a Personal Chair in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Dublin City University. Among his single-author publcations are Across the Lines: Travel, Language and Translation (Cork University Press, 2000), Translation and Globalization (Routledge, 2003); Time Tracks: Scenes from the Irish Everyday (New Island 2003); Translation and Identity (Routledge, 2006)and he has co-edited Reinventing Ireland: Culture, Society and the Global Economy (Pluto Press, 2002), Irish Tourism: Image, Culture, Identity (Channel View, 2003) and Transforming Ireland (Manchester University Press, 2009). He is Humanities Secretary of the Royal Irish Academy.
