Kate Niles
Kate Niles is the award-winning author of the novel The Basket Maker. She also has a book of poetry, Geographies of the Heart, and is widely published in several genres. She is the recipient of ForeWord Magazine's Book of the Year Award for Fiction in 2004, and a Colorado Council on the Arts Individual Artist Fellowship. She was nominated for a Mountains and Plains Bookseller Award in 2004 and continues to publish for a regional magazine with a circulation of 40,000, among other mediums. A former archeologist and teacher, she now makes her living in the social work field. She lives in Durango, CO, with her family.
