A linguist by training, Jane Myles was the editorial manager in an educational publishing house for over 30 years where she wrote and edited magazines teaching English to foreign teenagers and managed a large team doing likewise. She travelled extensively giving teacher seminars in places as far apart as Siberia and southern Portugal. She retired to Cornwall and in order to give more time to writing and sculpting and also ran short exclusive home-stay courses for EFL teachers at her home by the sea - until grandma duties took over. She is a passionate movie buff and runs a small and exclusive weekly film club in her home.
Her son is a lifeguard trainer and is on the crew of the Padstow lifeboat. Her daughter Sophia is a well-known film actress.
