Carrie Jane Knowles

Carrie Jane Knowles has been a freelance writer for the past forty years. She has published widely in both fiction and non-fiction and has won a number of prestigious writing awards, including: Midland Authors Poetry Award, the American Heart and Torch Award for Creative Journalism, and Glimmer Train's Very-Short Fiction Contest.
Her non-fiction book, The Last Childhood: A Family Story of Alzheimer's, Three Rivers Press 2000, has been noted as one of the top 100 books written about Alzheimer's. Her novel, Lillian's Garden, was published by Roundfire Books 2013. Roundfire has subsequently published her second novel, Ashoan's Rug in 2013. Owl Canyon Press published her lastest novel, A Garden Wall in Provence in 2016 and a collection of her short fiction, Black Tie Optional in 2019.
Carrie and her husband, Jeff Leiter, live in Raleigh, North Carolina. They have three children.
