Does Divine Consciousness exist only with the Son of God, or within all of us?
Two thousand years ago, a rich myriad of Christian teachings emerged after the death of Jesus. Two pillars rose above the din; two churches, two structures, two leaders: James, the Brother of Jesus, and St Paul, the Evangelist.
Journey with St. Paul, whose tireless efforts laid the foundations for one of the biggest religions in modern times. Walk with James, the brother of Jesus, who was given the mantle to lead the original Church by Jesus, upon his death. These accounts offer intimate knowledge of what motivated and moved them, how and why they built and developed the twin pillars of Christianity, and what happened to their respective churches.
Two thousand years have dimmed the light on these diverse teachings. It is now time to illuminate the secret stories of the Early Christian Church and the Divine Consciousness.

Divine Consciousness - The Secret Story of James The Brother of Jesus, St Paul and The Early Christian Church asks if divine consciousness is in all of us, or just the Son of God. It does so through the early life and experiences of Paul and the evolution of early Christianity, following Paul's enlightenment, teachings, journeys, and impact on the nature and spread of Christianity. Later, the story shifts to James. As significant events are outlined and discussed, readers also receive contemporary discussions, reactions, and parables that illustrate the messages and impact of Jesus, past and present. This isn't a biographical sketch of early Biblical figures, nor an analysis of their messages, but a strong series of connections between basic spiritual lessons and modern lives. As such, the approach isn't linear, but is designed to reach into the heart and mind by connecting daily experience and modern perspective to traditional views of Christianity and faith. It should also be advised, for Christian readers, that the approaches include past life regression and secret stories that are part of the greater mythos of spiritual origins. Reena Kumarasingham is a regression therapist. This approach is reflected in a study which may be chosen by some for its scholarly-sounding analytical title, but which will soon bring readers into surprising realms as the regression technique is linked to new revelations about spiritual roots and their evolution. It's been two thousand years since the original teachings that formed the pillars of Christianity were formed. Think about how many changes have been made in the course of just a few decades as history is revised, reinterpreted, and often wrongly assigned values that deviate immensely from original intention. Now look at Divine Consciousness with this perspective in mind. Regression records and conversations power a new approach to understanding the divine and its incarnation over the centuries: "Mia: I was sent a messenger. A boat came and told of what was happening in Jerusalem. There was fighting. Fighting within the church. Jesus' teachings and efforts are being twisted and convoluted. But even more, those who stayed back can't agree on what to teach. What the principles are. There is a lot of infighting and a lot of pressure by the Sadducees and the Pharisees to impose their will on our Church. With the threat of the Romans, everyone is scared. There is a lot of chaos and confusion. I have to go. Reena: Who was leading the church in Jerusalem when you were in Britannia? Mia: There are several factions. Many people trying to say, "This is The Way." Reena: So it was all a bit chaotic? Mia: Mmm. Also it is safer there now. From the Romans." Unlike any other discussion or book, Divine Consciousness is a standout from this perspective alone, providing invaluable spiritual and historical insights that will intrigue open-minded Christians and readers from other disciplines. Scholars who look for supportive notes will appreciate the heavily footnoted references throughout, as well as the extensive bibliography and appendix. The new age connection lends to a unique and original work: "Two thousand years ago marked the end of the Age of Aries, and the start of the Age of Pisces. It was a time of upheaval as the New Consciousness brought about change and challenged status quo. It was a time where cultural conditioning and belief systems were being challenged. It was during this time that Jesus, his teachings and his followers emerged with their controversial new teachings, which challenged the established powers of both the Roman and Jewish establishments. They challenged both the Jewish Laws and Ways of Being, as well as the rituals of polytheistic worship by the Romans. Those who wanted change were persecuted." 'Open-minded' is a requirement not only due to the regression therapy technique, but to the revision of some Christian perspectives about the early Biblical figures and their movements and motivations. Readers open to moving behind staid traditional interpretations will find a treasure trove of new spiritual meaning in Divine Consciousness that propels a greater understanding and interpretation of spirituality in the modern world and the real origins of their roots. ~ Diane C. Divine Consciousness: The Secret Story of James the Brother of Jesus, St Paul and the Early Christian Church by Reena Kumarasingham is an interesting book with a strong appeal to Christian readers. In this book, the author examines the works of two prominent Christian leaders from the period following the crucifixion of Jesus to the birth of the early Churches. It is a book that explores the roles played by two great disciples of Jesus: James, the brother of Jesus and St Paul, the Evangelist. One is from the very heart of Judaism while the other is a Gentile, one of the greatest persecutors of Jesus’ followers who later became a strong pillar of the early Christian Church. In this book, the author explores the theme of divine consciousness and shows how it manifested with the early Christians and how it is a reality available to everyone. The book presents some of the key moments in the lives of these two disciples with insights and spiritual teachings designed to create spiritual awareness and understanding of the workings of God’s spirit. I found this book to be very engaging and inspirational and Reena Kumarasingham provides details about James and St. Paul that readers will love to read about. The book is filled with the key messages of these two people that come out clearly while exploring their encounter with Christ, their motivation, and their spiritual influence. Reading this book was like being immersed in the history of the spirit. The book provides a unique interpretation of the concept of divine consciousness. Divine Consciousness: The Secret Story of James the Brother of Jesus, St Paul and the Early Christian Church is transporting. It is a book that challenged my way of looking at the Bible, understanding Jesus, and the mission of the Church. 5 Stars. ~ Ruffina Oserio, Reader's Favourite Reviews
Divine Consciousness: The Secret Story of James the Brother of Jesus, St Paul and the Early Christian Church by Reena Kumarasingham is a non-fiction theology book wherein the biblical context of messages thousands of years old are re-examined in the original lexicon of their delivery. Over the course of two solid parts and fourteen distinct but interconnected chapters, Kumarasingham covers multiple points of argument, some of which may be considered highly controversial by other scholars, with topics ranging from the disciple Paul's relationship with Christ and his life as a witness to Christ's own, as well as a look into Paul's mostly unknown pre-Christ upbringing, to Paul's travels and establishment of the Gentile Church. The second part refocuses on James, the younger brother of Paul, and his movement in the Judeo-Christian church. Reena Kumarasingham has compiled a fantastic alternative to the first-century following in Diving Consciousness. For the most part, the writing is tight and concise and most readers will find the book easily accessible with regard to the breaking down and simplifying of explanations. I found the parts on past-life regression a contentious theory that is deeply explored by Kumarasingham, who bravely asserts practical reasoning and a probable likelihood in the face of what one would imagine to be fierce resistance to such an outlook. The theories presented are grounded in a great deal of indisputable terrain, rooted by scripture. It's nearly impossible to attempt to counter a theory when its source is the very book—the Holy Bible—that has been translated hundreds of times over centuries, but from whence Kumarasingham makes a compelling case. I think this book will make a great addition to the collection of any true theologist and scholar. 5 Stars ~ Asher Syed, Reader's Favourite Review
Divine Consciousness: The Secret Story of James The Brother of Jesus, St Paul and the Early Christian Church by Reena Kumarasingham is a book that captures a religious phenomenon — the birth of the Christian Church — in a powerful way and the life of the early Christians. Filled with history, this book follows the story of two powerful influences on the birth of Christianity. One is the Gentile lawman who persecuted Christians, St Paul, and the other is James, the brother of Jesus. The author delves into the early lives of these two men and explores their lives before and after the dramatic events of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. The author then writes about how Paul established the Church among the Gentiles and the powerful influence of James in the Judeo-Christian Church. Reena Kumarasingham captures the religious atmosphere of the early Christians, a powerful divine consciousness permeating the spirits of the two men and the effect it had on their audiences. In this book, the reader will learn about the life of St Paul before his encounter with Jesus and the vocation that transformed him, his travels preaching the word of God, and his dismal end. We also meet James in his younger years, his perspective of the crucifixion, and the role he played in the birth of the Church. The book is filled with relevant religious themes and references and I particularly enjoyed the author’s take on how the two men experienced and lived through the crucifixion. Writing in a style that is simple and easy-to-read, the author poses important questions. Where has this zeal gone? Divine Consciousness is an invitation to go back to the message of the early Christians and rediscover the beauty and power of the message of Jesus. 5 Stars ~ Jose Cornelio, Reader's Favourite Reviews
Praise for Reena Kumarasingham: 'No Christian or spirituality reader should be without this analysis...a remarkable, astute analysis of the evolution and lasting impact of the schism between two worlds...[she] uses the interview form of regression therapy to consider daily lives and broader implications of decisions and choices that create the roots of anguish in today's world.' ~ D.
