Stafford Whiteaker
Stafford Whitaker, who was a member of a Roman Catholic monastic community and lives now as a hermit, is the author of the world's best-selling book on retreats, The Good Retreat Guide, now in its 20th year and 6th new edition. There is an online version at www.thegoodretreatguide.com which has over a million viewers annually. In addition he has written a number of other books, mainly about spirituality. His most recent book is Good Living in Hard Times to be published in 2012. Selections from his writing have been included in the Oxford University Index of the Usage of the English Language. He has considerable on-going media coverage for his work, including Time Magazine, US Today, BBC World Television, ITV Sunday Morning, Daily Telegraph, Independent on Sunday, The Independent, The European, The Times, The Sunday Times. In addition, he has appeared in many TV and radio programs and documentary films in Britain, Italy and Switzerland.
