Simon Gordon Wheeler

Simon took early retirement as Headteacher of a Pupil Referral Unit- his professional background is in education and helping children with behavioural, emotional, social and psychological problems. He has a Masters degree in education specialising in behaviour management and an Advanced Diploma in Counselling from Cambridge University. However, his initial training was at The Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London where, in the early 1970's, he studied to become a Drama teacher.
He has appeared on local TV and radio several times. He was a studio guest on “The Time, the Place”, with John Stapleton, (Anglia TV in Norwich). He was part of a community action group when living in Leicestershire, objecting to the largest gypsum mine in Europe being built in his village. He organised all the marketing and PR. He was filmed and interviewed by both ITV and BBC local news. There was a 3 week long Public Enquiry, where he was a quasi-advocate, about the planning proposal. The village won.
He has worked in England, Wales, the Irish Republic and southern California.
He was a book reviewer for the journals "Pastoral Care in Education", “The Cambridge Journal of Education” and for the “Journal for Association of Workers with Children with EBD.”
Since retiring he has become more active with his interest in dowsing. (His great grandfather, who was mayor of Simon's home city of Bath in 1918, was a plumber and very successful international water diviner). He is a member of the British Society of Dowsers and helps moderate their on-line Forum. They have an on-line shop, the stock of which includes books.
