Sarah Kim

Sarah Kim was born in Seoul, Korea and grew up in San Francisco as an only child to her immigrant parents. Upon completing college with a B.S. in Landscape Architecture, she moved to Atlanta and studied Master of Divinity at Emory University and M.S. in International Affairs at GA Tech. She pursued a vocation in the church and was ordained in the United Church of Christ (UCC) in 2006. Her focal ministry became education and counseling, and she completed Th.D. in Pastoral Counseling at Columbia Theological Seminary in 2010. She served in the UCC as an educator of progressive theology for a decade, teaching and equipping clergy leaders with alternative approach to theological education. Rev. Dr. Kim’s faith base has broadened over the years, and she finds commonality among the Christian, Buddhist, and Catholic traditions in their practice of the transcendence through prayer and meditation. She now writes full-time both in Korean and in English while continuing with her saju counseling practice. She resides in Duluth, GA.
