Richard Poole

Richard Poole

Richard has spent over thirty years working in emergency, reconstruction and development in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. The projects have included agricultural development, reforestation, primary health care, water and sanitation, and micro-credit in settled communities, as well as life support for IDPs and refugees.
He has recently returned from Rwanda where he was managing a camp of 19,000 Congolese Tutsi refugees who were driven from their homelands in the mid 1990’s.
He is the author of three books which seek to share with others the immense passion, joy and satisfaction of his experiences as a humanitarian worker. His fourth book, Mankind's Last Chance, Healing for a Broken World, addresses the three primary issues of our time, namely, the global economic crisis, the degradation of our natural environment and the breakdown of social order. He argues that only a return to the spiritual path will provide humanity with a lasting solution to its mounting problems.
