Fiona Bowie

Fiona Bowie studied anthropology at the Universities of Durham and Oxford in the UK. She is currently an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Bristol and Director of the Afterlife Research Centre, http://www.afterliferesearch.info. Her doctoral thesis in 1985 was on the relationship between the Focolare Movement and Bangwa people in Cameroon in West Africa. She is the author of a bestselling text book The Anthropology of Religion: An Introduction and has written and edited numerous books and articles in the field of religion kinship spirituality and gender studies. She is married with two children and lives in Gloucestershire.
