Heather Mendel

After settling in the U.S. in 1986, Heather Mendel's feminist awakening to sexist discrimination burst through her consciousness overlaying an existing awareness of the tragic consequences of racial discrimination witnessed in apartheid South Africa where she was born and raised. Deeply rooted in the universality of Judaism, Heather, mystic, artist, writer and teacher of spiritual wisdom, believes a contemporary understanding of ancient Jewish teachings will significantly contribute to the new world paradigm. She lives in San Luis Obispo, California.

Heather was a columnist for The Womens' Press: voices, views and visions of San Luis Obispo County and was the keynote speaker at their first Annual Retreat. Her articles and essays have appeared in Bridges: A Jewish Feminist Journal, Apr 2010; in Presence: An International Journal Of Spiritual Direction, Sept 2010. SInce the publication of Dancing In The Footsteps of Eve, she has lead workshops and retreats and participated in conferences across the US
