Subhash Jain
Subhash Jain is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Civil & Environmental Enginnering at The University of Iowa. He was born in India into a family that practiced Jainism and he continued to do so after coming to the US in 1967. After retiring in 2003, he concentrated on studying Indian Philosophy, particularly the Jain karma doctrine, and received another Ph.D. degree in Jainolgy from the University of Madras. He has published two books and several articles in journals and magazines on the karma doctrine. The material in the attached manuscript, which addresses several new-found issues of the karma doctrine, is drawn from my Ph.D. dissertation, but the book (about 38,000 words), is written in a language that any lay person can easily follow. He lives in Iowa City, Iowa.
