Manu Dube

Manu Dube obtained his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay; his Masters in Mechanical Engineering specializing in Engineering Design from the State University of New York at Binghamton; and his Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics with a minor in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Arizona at Tucson. He obtained his candidacy and completed his coursework for a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering specializing in Electronics Packaging and Reliability at CALCE, the University of Maryland, College Park before transferring to Arizona for his thesis and minor-area coursework. He was on the National Merit List overall, and for Science and English, in the nationwide exam conducted by the Central Board for Secondary Education in India (Standard X), and won a gold medal in the National Standard Exam in Physics (Standard XII). He has worked in various positions as consultant, subcontractor, design engineer, engineer, and as research and technical assistant at three universities, for projects including construction of a hot strip mill for a steel plant, design and certification of mechanical structures, failure and reliability analyses of electronics components and materials, stability analyses of well-bores for oil drilling, and manufacturing of plastics products; related to small, medium, and multinational companies, as well as governmental agencies. His research interests primarily relate to development and validation of unified material models incorporating thermomechanical and degradation behavior, especially with a view towards enhancing the reliability of electronic systems; and by extension, issues related to computer modeling for complex systems as well as the broader impact of information technology on areas such as education and research. He has several publications and has also been ad-hoc referee for scientific journals. Manu has been as Assistant Professor in the department of Management Information Systems at Yeditepe University since 2008. He was recently the site manager at Yeditepe for the EU-LLP project IS IT GREEN, representing the institution in the consortium of eleven partners from eight European countries.
