Alan Rayner

Alan Rayner is a naturalist who uses art, poetry and a new kind of mathematics, as well as rigorous science to enquire and communicate about our natural human neighbourhood. He was born in Nairobi, Kenya in 1950, educated at King’s College, Cambridge and is currently a Reader at the University of Bath. He has been President of the British Mycological Society and a Miller Visiting Research Professor at the University of California, Berkeley.
