Ben Date
Ben Date was born in Sault Ste. Marie, 1998, and currently resides with family in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Along with his devotion to fictional writing, Ben is an avid runner and adores taking his two dogs on forest excursions. Ben possesses a reserved disposition, often saving his insight for his works of fiction, as well as those who are close to him. He developed his passion for literature at a young age and in his adolescent years, Ben began devouring fictional novels in his spare time. He graduated from the University of Ottawa in the spring of 2022 with the standing of Magna Cum Laude. Ben majored in criminology, while using his electives to focus on conflict studies and communications. His tenure in academia refined his writing abilities in the realm of non-fiction, but Ben never lost his passion for fiction. While juggling university life and a variety of summer jobs, Ben used creative writing as a medium of escapism. In the wake of his debut novel 'The Outpost', Ben wants to continue creating fictional worlds that can transport readers into fabricated realities which serve as a welcome relief from the monotony of everyday life.
