Nathan Aaseng

Nathan Aaseng grew up in suburban Minneapolis and attended Luther College, IA, and Luther Seminary, MN. His most significant calling in life has been the privilege of raising his four children with his wife in Eau Claire, WI. In addition to that, he has worked as a research microbiologist, spent 20 years as an award-winning freelance author, followed by 13 years as a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America

David Lose invited him to write a regular column for the popular Working Preacher website when he was just a year out of seminary, which he did for more than a decade. He has spoken at countless events from Florida to California, and is well-known in the Upper Midwest by both religious and secular people in publishing. He was featured in a 10,000-word essay in Something About the Author, vol, 236, when he was for too young for such a retrospective. He was honored as a Notable Wisconsin Author by the Wisconsin Library Association, and a starred review in Kirkus Reviews declared "his stories are as addictive as peanuts.” He lives with his family in Eau Claire, WI.
