Chris Scott

Chris Scott

Now retired, Chris Scott was a priest and psychologist. Before joining the Society of Saint Francis as a novice Friar in 1974, he worked in the London Ambulance Service. After a four year novitiate, he worked for a year in a parish before going to Salisbury and Wells Theological College. Ordained in 1981, he worked in parishes until 1989. He married Ruth in 1982 and qualified as a Relate counselor during this time. He moved into chaplaincy in 1989 when he also started a psychology degree, graduating from Surrey University in 1991. He also worked as an Organisational Consultant and Trainer in the NHS for a number of years. He studied Jungian psychology with the Guild of Analytical Psychology before qualifying as a psychotherapist with the Human Givens Institute. He is now an honorary Chaplain to Winchester University. He has two adult children.
