Andrew Gold

Andy Gold, Ph.D., is a full-time business faculty member at
Hillsborough Community College (HCC), and teaches in the graduate
school at the University of Tampa, and the University of South Florida.
In addition to his teaching duties, Gold co-founded the HCC Innovation
and Entrepreneurship Program – The InLab@HCC – an
Interdisciplinary Institute for Innovation. In 2019, Dr. Gold
and the HCC team created a new Veterans Entrepreneurship Training Program in
partnership with Syracuse University’s Institute for Veterans and Military Families
(IVMF), a national leader in vetrepreneurship training, research, and advocacy. He
serves as the co-director for this new Veterans program called Startup Training Resources
to Inspire Veteran Entrepreneurship (STRIVE). HCC is the first community college to
partner with the IVMF. Born and raised in New York City, Gold is a product of public
education, and is a lifelong entrepreneur having started multiple businesses over the past
23 years. Recently, Dr. Gold co-authored a book – Community Colleges as Incubators of
Innovation. Dr. Gold had a 12-year career in finance, working on Wall Street where he
and a business partner raised $52 million in capital to start-up a hedge fund business.
Gold currently lives in Tampa with his wife Anne, a middle school teacher. They have
two sons.
