Kabbalah and Healing

Ancient wisdom for the modern world demonstrating that incurable merely means curable from within...

What Maggy Whitehouse has discovered, over more than a quarter of a century of studying, teaching and writing books on Kabbalah, is that, used as a tool for inspiration, Kabbalah is a magical loom on which we can weave our healing, and from that healing, we become an agent of healing for the World. Kabbalah tells us exactly where, when, how and why we may be out of alignment with health, finances and relationships and, just as importantly, how to realign ourselves.

For Maggy, it began with chronic lack of self-esteem which, in turn, led to many a humiliation, widowhood, shark attack, failed emigration, debt, divorce, shame, misery, hatred and what the doctors called an incurable illness which now no longer exists. It can be summed up, in a way, by how the first eight aspects led to the final one and how Kabbalah taught Maggy how to heal them, from finish to start. After all, 'incurable' surely means 'curable from within'.

Progressive Voices review of Kabbalah and Healing

When I receive a book to review, I make myself, in spite of a strong temptation, abstain from reading the reviews the publisher includes. It was particularly challenging this time because I know little about the Kabbalah and had no expectations of what this book might contain. Struggled at first, but as I progressed, it began to make sense to me. The Kabbalah, as far as I understand it, is an esoteric and mystical wisdom tradition and is taught orally, renewed through subsequent generations. Its purpose is to lead the initiate to God in a new and intimate way.

I also knew that there is a considerable ‘New Age ‘interest in the tradition. This book breaks a number of taboos. It is written, for a start, by a woman, and one who is from a Christian not a Jewish tradition, and it aims to be far from esoteric. It is from the pen of someone who is clearly a remarkable person, a teacher of the Kabbalah, a journalist, broadcaster, and comedian, as well as author of eighteen books on spirituality.

I found the concepts interesting, appealing and, mostly, accessible. When I looked at the reviews, I saw that Richard Rohr was amongst their number and this makes great sense. He warmly welcomes her offering to her readers: to heal our relationships with God, ourselves, each other, and our planet. She came to the Kabbalah through a variety of emotional and health challenges and writes with a passion to share the healing she has experienced through her highly detailed guide to the implementation of this mystical tradition and her understanding of it.
