One day, I was sitting in a Golden Dawn temple and Ptah was being channeled by one of the members. It was quite fascinating to watch how this persons entire demeanor changed as Ptah. They even walked differently.

We each received private messages. And when I stood in front of Ptah , he had a very surprised tone in his voice as he told me, "Oh, you have a pure heart." He sounded like he had struck gold. And in that moment, I couldn't help but think of all the imperfections inside me. Maybe what he said is true or maybe it's false. I don't know for certain. But I do know I'm still learning to be more kinder, more helpful, and more humble.

"To know thyself," is how one comes to understand their actions and how one understand the divine within themselves. If you search inside to find the divine within, be prepared to meet your demons too.

So take a moment and ponder the question, "Who am I?"
What happens when you strip away your titles? What's left? Are you satisfied with the little nugget of you still existing? Would you still respond to the world the same way if you didn't have your nice house and all the food you want to eat?

In Qabalah, we are taught there are 3 aspects of ourselves in relation to the Tree of Life.

The Neschamah, resides in the brain. It's your Divine Spark. The essence of you that is eternal and remains when your physical life is over. Some people think of this as your Higher Genius or Holy Guardian. Basically, it's your higher self.

The Ruach, resides in the heart. It is normal everyday waking human consciousness. Your thoughts, memories, language, reasoning and how you identify with yourself. It is your middle self.

The Nephesch, resides in the groin. It is your primal consciousness. The majority of psychic gifts and intuition including dreaming and visioning reside here in your lower nature.

How do you communicate with your higher self? One could sit quietly in meditation listening and waiting for a knowing feeling. One could invoke their higher self and use a pendulum or muscle testing. One could perform a Shamanic journey. All these choices are good. But, I'm going to highly suggest using tarot in addition to the other choices of communication with your higher self.

I believe tarot has this wonderful way of synchronizing all the parts of your soul, so that they communicate effectively together. When using tarot, the Neschamah (higher self) part of you, communicates with signs and symbols. The Neschamah hands off its messages to the Nephesche (lower self) because the Ruach (middle self) would struggle to understand the meaning or the message. Then, the Nephesche does its best to translate that message to the Ruach.

Tarot cards are colors, symbols, numbers and pictures. Your higher self can relate to these concrete cards. Answers from your higher self are waiting to be told with the cards. If you're not ready to translate an entire story with the cards, then pull one card and search for one item or symbol on that card and let it speak to your soul.  The more often you do this, the more often your soul has the opportunity to work together as one and sharpen the intuition inside you.
