Alexandra Rowan earned a double major degree in creative writing and communications. Shortly after her graduation in 2013 she died suddenly and without warning because of her use of hormone-based birth control. This book is a testament to her life, written by her father, David. My Beautiful Memory examines her life and death, and describes the difficult journey that her parents had to undertake following their loss. It concludes with an examination of the US drug industry’s influence over the regulation of these drugs that kill over one thousand women each year.
Alexandra was a young woman with a love of many things, but her chief passion was writing. Latter parts of the book are written in her own words.

I cannot think of anyone or any segment of society that would not benefit from reading “My Beautiful Memory”. This is an extremely well written, riveting, and heartfelt account of a tragedy that could befall any woman or any family. …….Unfortunately, very seldom are the dangers of hormonal contraceptives written about or for that matter even discussed. In spite of the thousands upon thousands of lawsuits that have been filed in association with these products, because most of these lawsuits are settled, very little is known about the victims or their families. This book changes that and in doing so signifies a paradigm shift……... It will be impossible for anyone who reads this book to see the pharmaceutical industry, the health care system, or our government in the same light again. Thank you Mr. Rowan for this phenomenal book….. This intimate personal account opens the barn door and sheds light on the harm that hormonal contraceptives have done and continue to do to unsuspecting, inadequately informed young women who put their trust and faith in entities that are supposed to help them, not harm them. Those who read this book will come to realize that when it comes to hormonal contraceptives, many of our trusted institutions have systematically failed far too many women and this cannot and must not continue. Thank you Rowan family. This book represents a fine, sincere, and noble contribution toward the betterment of humanity. ~ , Amazon
