Patterns of Creation
At your core is your spiritual Being. It is accessible to you now. This is the essence of John's Gospel.
In the beginning the Logos was...... This book takes the reader into the depth and beauty of the mystical teachings behind those opening words of Johns Gospel. They tell us that we are intimately connected to the whole of life, all that exists in nature and the vastness of the Cosmos. The eternal source of Being, called Logos - or Word - in the Gospel, is each persons connection to God, and is accessible Now.
This book is a radical exploration of the mystical teachings in the Gospel of John.
It helps the reader to experience these spiritual truths for themselves, and go beyond the everyday mind which is dominated by the ego and realize their eternal Being, which Johns Gospel calls Logos.
By approaching the teachings in a meditative state, the symbolism contained within the Greek text opens out and comes alive in the present moment. The Gospel is not a historical document; it speaks directly to each person now and the states of consciousness represented in the stories are accessible now. The book contains guided meditations to help bring this to life for the reader.
This awakening concerns our relationship with the whole of life. Spiritual consciousness means that we are aware of the sacredness of our connections to each other as fellow human beings, and to the creatures of the natural world. Christ and the Logos contain both masculine and feminine in balance; at this critical time, our well-being and that of our fellow creatures is dependent on this realization.
Johns Gospel contains the essence of all mystical teaching, bringing together the Jewish mystical understanding of the Torah and the Tree of Life - now known as Kabbalah - with the Hellenistic concept of Logos. The book explores how this powerful synthesis points to our profound awakening beyond the ordinary mind and identification with the ego. It shows the radical equality of masculine and feminine in creation: Jesus and Mary Magdalene as aspects of the Christ.
Throughout the book we approach the Gospel in a meditative state of awareness, bringing out the deeper meanings within the Greek, which are largely lost in conventional translations.

Steve Pope is a marvellous Teacher, Scholar and Mystic. This book provides a modern way of approaching ancient Biblical texts and a practical roadmap to spiritual awakening. Through clear and penetrating insights, Steve helps the reader discover the deeper meaning hidden in the western mystical teachings. ~ Rev. Dr. Megan Wagner, PhD,, Author of The Sapphire Staff, Provost and Director of Spiritual Psychology at The Chaplaincy Institute in California, USA.
The author’s overarching perspective and focus is the ceaseless unfolding of being into becoming, through the Logos itself; and that the "perennial wisdom" must be constantly experienced and enacted if it is to bear fruit. His words have real substance, and a clarity and simplicity that enhance the content of the book and make it readily accessible to a wide audience. I believe this is a much-needed book with a much-needed message that will not disappoint, and I recommend it wholeheartedly. ~ Ingrid Walton, MA Lit. Hum. (Oxon.); Dip. Information Science (City) Translator of Classical Greek and Latin texts.
Patterns of Creation brings the reader into the creative power of the present. Written with great clarity and considerable scholarship, this book achieves its aim, that of awakening the reader to a greater awareness of the spiritual consciousness that exists in each of us, enfolding us within the greater circle of life of which so many people are largely unaware. ~ Natasha Hoffman, Author, with Hamilton Hill, of Let the Standing Stones Speak (O Books), and with Carolyn North, of Voices Out of Stone (Findhorn Press) .
As a long-time student of the Hebrew Kabbalah, or receiving, Steve Pope writes with authority about the symbolism of the Gospel of John, which conceals spiritual messages derived from its Hellenistic origins. He deals at length with the key word Logos, the Word of God, the divine essence of Life, and explains how important it is to be conscious of the life force within us that animates body and mind through the Soul. This exegesis is well illustrated with geometric diagrams, which will interest many people, who will gain much from the numerous meditations and breathing exercises which illuminate the text, all aimed at release from the dominance of the ego. This is recommended reading that many will find useful and rewarding. ~ Hamilton Hill M.A. (Oxon) , Author with Natasha Hofffman of
