VampyreA cover is a first taste of a book, a first glimpse into the world of the tale... but should you judge the book by its cover? Perhaps in this case, the answer is 'no' because this one is so much more than a pretty boy vampire novel...

Suzanne Ruthven said... "I think the choice of cover for Charnel House Blus: The Vampyre's Tale speaks for itself!  It is not, however, the way I personally see the suave, urbane Lord Ruthven.  This picture was selected to appeal to the current televised trend of vampire-inspried drama and a demonstration of going against the author's own inclinations in order to appeal to a wider readership.  "Will you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?"

A view of vampire culture through the eyes of Lord Ruthven - the first vampire in the literary world from John Polidori's 'The Vampyre'. Written as faction, Lord Ruthven rarely appears in vampiric anthologies and has never been filmed - neither has he ever been vanquished!
